Dexter TV show being made into a game

Showtime Networks and Marc Ecko Entertainment will announce tomorrow that they have partnered up to create a video game based on the US tv-show Dexter. "Dexter is the extremely rare TV show with enough layers of action and tension to translate perfectly into a compelling videogame," said Marc Fernandez, Vice President of Marc Ecko Entertainment.

A favorite show among several editors at the IGN offices, and winner of our award for Best Television Show of 2007, Dexter tells the story of title character Dexter Morgan -- a blood spatter expert in the Miami police department who moonlights as a serial killer who hunts down and dispatches other murderers.

Haha... I was just talking to someone about Dexter. I freaking love this show. If it was done right, it could be awesome but I doubt it will be. Movies to video games are almost always horrible. They try to throw something cheap together and rely on the brand name to sell titles.

I don't live in the US, so therfore clueless about the Show...Yes, I did. Yes, I can understand that you don't live in the U.S. and don't get the show. But you can tell from the bloody "Dexter" logo on the main page that it's NOT the cartoon "Dexter's Laboratory". If you clicked the news source link, you'd get further insight on this.

Humm what an original concept there, I guess that explains why it's on Showtime then.
Is it all ~that graphic~?! Sounds like it could've been on Fox otherwise.

Ahwell it's not like I could comeup with anything better, and it does sound like an intersting Show otherwise (if not my thing, Si-Fi & Anime), but hay why not, this is the kind of stuff that defines the Xbox.

Is it all ~that graphic~?! Sounds like it could've been on Fox otherwise.It's pretty graphic. The show is the life of a serial killer and forensic expert that specializes in blood splatter. It was recently licensed to CBS but has been extremely toned down and it had lost a lot of it's charm:

The story is based on the book Darkly Dreaming Dexter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darkly_Dreaming_Dexter) which I contribute to the reason behind it's originality. The plot is much more detailed and dynamic then what is mentioned here. Check out the Showtime site and Wikipedia links that I posted previously.

I think the game could be pretty good.
Hopefully with new plot/superb graphics and replay value..could be good. oh and quite a long game.

Dexter is one of the best tv shows i've watched..... ever.

I hope they don't butcher this game because I know my wife will want to buy it when it comes out.

It could be a great game no doubt about it, but they would have to pour a lot of money into it.

I hope that they will make a an adventure game (somewhat like the lost game but better and longer).

Or maybe even an episodic game for xbox live / psn. That would fit nicely into the TV series franchise.
