I don't typically post, but I do read a lot of the "scene" (pretty much all console and handheld) forums quite a bit, and I have to say that in all of my years of modding, this was hands down one of the most intimidating installs I've done.

I've installed chips since the PS1, but only for a few select friends, so it's not like I'm an expert with an iron, but I had never bricked a console. Some of the points on this thing can be very tricky, but thanks to the hard work of a few people, I was able to find the information I need.

Myself having limited soldering skills, a semi-novice installer CAN do this, but the only suggestion I can make is to be certain you have the proper tools to do this. Trying to wing it with the wrong wire, solder or iron can result in disaster. And remember, flux is your friend!

I apologize in advance for not having pics of my install, but I didn't have my camera with me, and honestly, by the time I was finished, I just wanted to test it out.

I want to make sure I give credit to the proper people because they certainly deserve it, and I really hope I don't forget anyone, but I've been digging through forums on various sites all week before starting this install.

First I want to thank dCiSo for the first diagram I found of alternate install points. MUCH THANKS!

Then if I am not mistaken, it was quantronics that posted an image of a hybrid of dCiSo's alternate points, combined with using the original region free points from D2Pro. Again, MUCH THANKS!

And thank you to everyone else who responded with feedback from various installs. I don't know if just "anyone" can perform this install, but if you've got the balls to open it up and give it a shot, I can say from experience that the following diagram is the best thing I've found so far!

Good luck! I'm happy to answer any questions to help others, because I know how long it took me to find the information to be confident to even attempt this install.

The image I posted is the one I used that worked. As I mentioned, I didn't have a camera with me when I finished the install, and after all of the hours of work, I just wanted to test everything out, which required me putting at least some of it back together.

The install wasn't as clean as some of the other images I've seen, but I also mentioned I don't do soldering all that often any more.

The image is in high resolution, so you can get it pretty close and see exactly where the points are that you need to solder to. I wouldn't have tried the install if that image hadn't been so detailed.

If I open up my case for any reason, I'll be more than happy to post pics.
