Hello,

just a little curiosity here. The D2Pro and the Argon are both updatable via external programmer. How come the wiikey could be updated just by putting in a disc, but these can't?

If the wiikey was capable of it, why couldn't the makers of these new chips have added that too?

I must be missing some basic technical point here, if anyone could just feed my curiosity, thanks.

It uses a chip (argon/d2pro) that just can not update from dvd thats all.

This is nonsense, the older chips supported some serial connection between the drive and connection points of the chip that prevented backups! They have removed that connection in the D2C chipsets, so it isn't possible because Nintendo tried to block out mod chips and failed miserably at it lol! Now the only way to update it is through JTAG, but at least the Argon and D2Pro support it!
