Apparently, this app lets you sign your Wii disks using a false key. It may be the "bug" that allowed unsigned code to run prior to the Twilight hack.

Use this key searcher found in the post below to extract your keys from the system update WADs present in a Wii ISO.
http://www.elotrolado.net/hilo_Key-finder-encuntra-claves_958210

You then edit the .reg file included with the Trucha Signer and insert your keys.

Does it work? Dunno.

EDIT: Here is the Readme:
Trucha Signer 0.2 (xt5@ingenieria-inversa.cl)

This program let you extracts files, replace files, and
insert a "trucha signature" in a Wii disc partition, the
source data could be an ISO image or just be read straight
from a DVD drive (backup copies).

This program requieres the "common key" available in a
Keyset in the window registry (use the example Keyset
provide as a template and add keys on it).

Credits goes to the original team that show this hack in
the 24th Chaos Communication Congress: bushing, segher and
tmbinc.

Also thanks goes to marcan and nuke for the help and
support.

And the fucks goes to knobhead kids trolling around on IRC.

TODO:
-bugfix it
-add support for LG GDR drives (for read original medias)
-enable whole partition data replace
-verify TMDs and Tickets from the cert chain
-sign discs using custom private keys
-WAD support
-VC games/Channels support

Here's the Babelfish (http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?lp=es_en&trurl=http%3a%2f%2fwww.elotrolado.net%2fhilo_Truch a-Signer--modifica-y-firma-los-discos-de-Wii_967017)translation from the author that gives more information.

Basically, there's a bug in the RSA signature checker that lets you sign games with a fake signature. It's all ablaze in the Spanish hacking community.

The bug can easily be squished by Nintendo...

SO DON'T UPDATE YOUR WII FIRMWARE!

I wonder if this latests 3.2 update corrects this.

So with this we can inject homebrew code into an ISO and burn it to a disc? I can see this being a lot more convenient than writing an elf file to an SD Card, putting it in an SD Gecko, and running TP. This is of course if you have a drive chip.

According to wiinewz.com this isn't for signing executables but you can resign the partitions in a Wii iso to replace or remove files, etc. Should be useful for game hacking and iso ripping.

yah, it's pretty much only good for ripping games. I don't know how that is supposed to work though since the disc has to be a certain size for the Wii to read it to begin with...

It's not only for ripping games, it's possible someone can replace certain files to modify a game. Something like those hacked GHII ISOs with new songs.

No, you still need a modchip.

Yes, it works!

Here is a tutorial I wrote. It's hosted on GBATemp

ok so this will be great for homebrew and edited games but not unmodded consoles
