This is something that isn't very smart.... but I am thinking of trying it...

First: d2c boards are a pain in the ass

So, why not goto your local rental store which rents consoles, rent a Wii, crack it open and if it has a older version board, swap em.

There is no warrenty sticker on the Wii, and any stick a rental store uses is easily removed temporarly

before opening it up you could check the serial# to see what it has inside

if the console still works like before and if they arnt going to chp it themselves then i see why this idea cant work..... hell even if there is warranty stickers i can bypass that with a hairdryer and a sharp stanly knife i must have about 7 360 warranty stickers in tact on a peice of wax papper using that method

Sorry, forgot to mention the Drive your swapping out is in perfect working order.... (yours and the rented one)

Its not to fix a broken console, just get a wiikey moddeable drive

u misunderstood me... if you brake the rented one when you were swapping them you have to pay for it

EDIT: wait nevermind dont u just have to unscrew the 2 screws and solder a couple wires thats not hard

What you're talking about is fraud, and if the mods here have any sense, they should ban you for suggesting such a stupid and illegal idea.

I think its a great idea. Theres no harm in doing this. Only good things will come from it.

Just because a sheep tells you its bad because the other sheep said so doesnt mean its bad. Fraud??. Who cares there nothing negative coming from this. I suggest the idiots that disagree with me go rant there sheep laws somewhere els. (SHEEPLAWS) The laws that are obeyed only for the sake of following and not to analyzing anything for themselves.

If in the end both units work, but you end up with one that is easier to mod, then I don't really see the fraud in that.
