I can have either installed and bought for $120.

I am wondering, which should i choose? The Argon, or D2Ckey?

It's really up to you to choose and you need to do the search. What do you want in the chip? I personally have a d2ckey installed and I love it. I have had no problem with the chip so far and plays almost any games that I throw at it, even backups of gamecube games. And as for the Argon, it had a shaky start with problems with a lot of updates to follow. With this, I'd go with the d2ckey because you don't need to do anything with it. Just install it and let it work, as long as the install was done right. 29 wires is no easy task and the inside of the wii and the chips are REALLY small. Many have ruined their new wiis trying to install it themselves and if you have never done any soldering, DON"T do it.

There are other modchip options like D2Pro from the makers of D2CKey which is updatable, and another clone of D2Ckey called D2CkeyPRo. Do some research and you decide what chip you want. If you want my personal opinion, I'd go with D2Ckey.

To elaborate on that a little more... Here is my opinion on the two...

D2CKey: 31 wires is a bit of a pain, but I guess you're not installing it so it really doesn't matter. So far, D2CKey has been VERY solid; even working on games that haven't worked on any other chips at the initial release (i.e Mario Galaxy). The way D2CKey works is a bit different from other chips; i.e. it injects code without modifying the drive's RAM whatsoever. Therefore, it is theoretically undetectable.

But, on the other hand, the one VERY big issue with D2CKey is that it's not upgradeable. Though the chip has been very very solid thus far, nobody will ever be able to tell what the future holds. As I mentioned previously, the chip is theoretically undetectable, but who knows what Nintendo has up their sleeves... If they were to add some new protection that D2Ckey wasn't ready for, you'd be screwed.

D2Pro/Argon:

These chips seem to be similar at this point in time. Argon was a bit shaky at the beginning, but it seems they've pulled themselves out of that a bit. I can say from personal experience that I just did a D2Pro install earlier today and it appears pretty solid. The big upside to both of these is that they are upgradeable; therefore, if Nintendo came out with some crazy patch or new protection in games, you could update the chip. With D2Ckey you could potentially be stuck spending another 120$ getting a new chip installed.

Hope this helps!

Go for a D2Pro. Same people who did the D2CKey but alot less wires.
