Does it have to be a particular type of 12f629 or 12f683 chip to use it with YAOSM. For example, I'm looking at these http://cgi.ebay.com/Microchip-PIC-12F675-12F683-x2-SOIC_W0QQitemZ130188641551QQihZ003QQcategoryZ50915 QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQ_trksidZp1638.m118.l1247Q QcmdZViewItem, but it says that they are SOIC chips and I know that some chips are I/P. Thanks

I THINK those would work... but they're a type of surface mount chip, so it would be difficult to program...

Ok, I did some searching and found this wiki about SOIC chips, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Small-Outline_Integrated_Circuit. So these are not a good choice for YAOSM use and the ones to use should be I/P or DIPs(dual in-line package). I guess I answered my own question there. hehe
Where can you purchase 12f683 chips??
