Ok, so I just looked at my chipset version from Nintendo-Scene and this is what I have:
Your Drive Chip is most likely GC2-D2C.
Your Drive Pins are most likely not cut.
Now, I have come to figure that my two main options at the moment are CycloWiz and Argon. I know the advantages of doing this install on my Wii but what are the disadvantages? Could I still use online functionality like the internet channel, shop channel or play games online at all or will the modchip be detected and I would be banned/bricked? Speaking of bricking how does that work and what can be done to prevent it? I am good at soldering and have much experience doing that so no worries there.
Thanks for answering my questions.

First of all, you can't use CycloWiz on a D2C chip. There are now more modchip options other than the Argon, like the D2Ckey (29 wire install and not updatable, D2Pro (15 wire install and same maker of D2Ckey and is now updatable) and the clone of D2Ckey called D2Cpro.
I installed my wii with a D2Ckey and it working perfectly without any problems. It plays almost everything I throw at it and I love it. The 29 wire installation was painstaking but it paid off. Also there are alternative installs with only 4 wire install on the chip's leg itself and the rest of the wires on the back of the motherboard of the wii on the vias. If you have little or no experience soldering and don't want to take the chance of destroying your wii, take it to a pro.

Wow, I thought CycloWiz sounded like a good chip oh well. The D2Pro sounds good, I tried to do some research quickly - I found that the chip is always in a stealth like mode. Is this true? What happens if its detected or how could it get detected? How does the update process work? I would still appreciate a answer to my bricking/banning question if available.

The machine does not brick itself. It is the fault of the user who ignores what he/she shouldn't do. You can only brick/semi-brick your console if you put in a game disc with an update that isn't your region. Just to be safe, always use Wii BrickBlocker to deactivate the update on the game iso before you burn it to a disc. As for D2Ckey being stealth, yes, it is. From what the makers of the chip says, it is virtually undetectable. And I don't think it really needs any updating, well, so far. As I said, it plays EVERYTHING that I put in, except for the games that are listed as unplayable. You can go online without any problem of being detected and you can update your console's firmware via online. You can even play online games.

Great! I don't have any desire to play any games from a different region right now, doubt I ever will so I'm not going to worry about that. I'm curious though, I've been on the d2pro.com website and can't find a list of games that aren't compatable. I'm assuming its the backups that aren't compatable and the real versions are correct? If its an update issue would putting the origional in first before trying a backup fix that issue?

If the backup games are from your region you shouldn't have any problems playing them. Only compatability problems occur when you try to play games from other regions, for example NTSC-U to NTSC-J or PAL to NTSC-U or J and vise versa.

Thank you very much for all that information. Just to confirm though, If I am using only the games from the same region that I am in I should not get any errors or risk of being bricked. I don't have to worry about future updates because the ship is stealth and will work with all backups in the future as long as they are the same region as my wii. Is this correct? Thanks again!
