Ya, CF would be much better, although I still like there being an available exploit, its a pain in the ass having to complete the steps of deleting the zelda save, replacing it with the homebrew, run the game, load a save and exploit it before you can launch the homebrew....v_v
Then again, I'm not really too excited about the wii getting hacked, it doesn't have that much more processing power over the original xbox so I can't really see any useful homebrew coming out for it that isn't already on the xbox other than things that take advantage of the wiimote. Which is cool, still waiting for the 360 or PS3 to have homebrew.

it really took this long to try a buffer overflow? Wasn't there a different hack that had a proof of concept last month, at that show

Yeah, and they're not going to release that one at this point because of how easy it would be to fix.
As for how hard it is to replace the save, etc. This one clearly loads from the SD card, as the text reads at the start. So, yes, the binary must be placed on the sd card, which is somewhat time consuming. But it doesn't need to be transferred over every time as a zelda save. Wifi would of course be ideal...

It's not like they can use whatever software they want to do this hack, an exploit has to be found. If there are none to be found in RE4, then how can they do it?
I think this is a very good start.
I just hope this leads to custom firmware in the future.
I probably won't delve into this until we're able to load homebrew off of the Wii menu directly. I'd also like to see if the homebrew devs could come up with Hard Drive access through USB before Nintendo or some Third-party company releases it.
