I got my hddvd drive over 8 months ago at toys R us for 129$. Then a week later i took it back and my 2 other hddvd players, because i got sick of them freezing up on every movie and the web extras crashing. I Took them back and got a PS3 to play movies and could not be happier. Now i got 360 for games and PS3 for movies.

Amazon was running that price a month ago
While its a good deal for those looking for the addon, id rather buy a pc upgrade then just some over priced dvd player.
I was talking with my buddy who runs a video rental store. She was saying they where gonna test blu-ray and hd-dvd to see how they do. She told me she doesnt even know how to turn a profit on them because they cost so much and are in such low demand. I told her to watch the player prices as they drop demand might get higher, but it still isnt worth trying to overstock them when dvd is a proven winner. Cheaper to buy, everyone has a player and quality is great. I told her best bet is to get 1 or 2 of the main titles and within a month try and sell the disk as used to turn the profit.
In any case, its great news to see player prices coming down for those who are interested in this market.

It was $79 at Amazon's Gold Box Deal this morning, plus you still get the 5 free movies and the included King Kong for a total of 5 movies which is not a bad deal. Too bad Amazon deal's over.

Eh whatever, has anyone actually seen one of these in the wild? I know at least 2 dozen people with 360's but dont know a single one that has one, most of the people I know just care about the games. If it was $50 or something I might concider it for a minute..but would probably still pass...its just pointless.
