  • God of War III devs worked 70 hr weeks in race to meet deadline

John Palamarchuk, the lead cinematic artist for God of War III, revealed that there was a race to meet the release deadline for the game and that some of the development team were working 70 hour weeks. "It was pretty intense, but it was also pretty exciting," said Palamarchuk. "We wanted to go out with a bang."

With the project complete and the studio taking a month-long break, Palamarchuk is catching up on his sleep, riding his bike and turning his face into the warmth of the California sunshine.
He doesn't know yet what his next project will be, but that's part of the fun of what he does.
"The industry has matured a lot recently, but it's still very new," he says.
"We're always asking ourselves where we can improve and what we can do better. There's a lot of hard work involved, but we all love what we do."

i'll pick up my copy in the morning, now if i could just get the gow collection finished before then, heavy rain is taking up more time than expected cause it's the first ps3 game i'm giving a second play through, mainly to try different conclusions and earn more of the trophies, it's also like only the 2nd or 3rd ps3 game of my collection that i've completely finished.

i'm hoping to add gow collection and gow 3 to that list.

I have to wait a month, instead of saving my money for gow:c and III five more days i spent the money on cider instead.
Looks like i under-estimated heavy rain too since i wasn't able to get it at retail again yesterday.. but at least it inspired me to buy cider

I can't wait, it's perfectly timed, the missus is away for the weekend with her sister, so other thana pair of rampaging puppies, I have the weekend to play it through. If it's anywhere near as good as 1 and 2 I can see me having it finnished by saturday. I have already had 5 people insisting on getting a loan of my PS3 just for it as the second was the game that had us all leave our 360's and PC's to collect dust for a week while we gave it our full attention.

To me this is the the console seller and the reason I have a PS3, if it lives up to the first 2, Sony won't be able to hype it enough in my opinion. As you can gather, I really liked the first 2 games, and this is the first game on any format this gen I would buy without question.
