Rumor: New Kid Icarus game in development for Wii

Sources are saying that Factor 5 are developing a new installment in Nintendo's Kid Icarus franchise for the Wii. The title will not not use the developer's previous GameCube graphics engines and will be made from scratch.

Nintendo and ex-Nintendo developer Factor 5 might have temporarily broken up, giving the developer just enough time to develop and release its dragon-themed shooter exclusively on Sony's PlayStation 3, but last week, news hit the Internet that the two companies are once again working together. According to reports last week, Factor 5 is developing an exclusive game for Nintendo's latest home console, Wii.

It has been over twenty years since the gaming world was first introduced to Kid Icarus, with the original releasing in 1986 for NES. The 2D sidescroller is uniquely its own, but its design enjoys recognizable influences from three of Nintendo's biggest franchises: Mario, Metroid and Zelda.

All those games that look worse than N64 graphics are all by one company: Data Design.

Every other company seems to 'try' a little better than them when it comes to the graphic quality in the games.

well kinda hard for ppl to be excited over a new Kid Icarus since most readers here didnt come along till the snes/n64 days. i hope they do him some justice although i dont like the idea of anyone other than nintendo making this game its like factor 5 suddenly working on the next megaman or mario lol
