Well updated my psp to the new 3.80M33 or 3.80M33-2, and tried to install a xmb theme but bricked, so i tried putting bak my flash0 but it was flash0 from my previous firmware 3.52M33-4, and so i tried and it said cannt replace or cant overwrite atkit.rc somthin like that, so i tried making a pandoras with my cuz's slim with 3.80M33-2 didnt work battery wouldnt allow the boot, so i tried my friends PHAT psp with 3.80M33 same thing, psp power light only came on:confused:, so im gonna try my little cuz's 3.52M33-4 on saturday hopefully it works, but now my friends psp cant even access recovery mode anymore, any ideas or help appreciated, im guessing its the new firmware, oh and for ur safety backup ur flash0 as soon as u upgrade to 3.80M33. thnx for any ideas or help u guys. :(

Thats why you make a nand backup trying to write to flash0 with 3.52 files is stupid as the ipl is different it will not work at all, good luck fixing the psp next time you know not to screw around without the needed backups, a backup of flash0 is only needed for when you change something but you should always also have an up to date nand backup.

You know, for some reason, I tried the same stupid maneuver today...
(yes, all common sense failed me :p)

Pandora wouldn't work... But I did get it to, here is how:

Every time I would boot Pandora, it would show the green screen, than it would just show a black screen (with a little white arrow) and shut off.
I'm not sure anymore, I may have extended boot menu installed...

So:

-I booted PSP with Pandora in and held the "R" shoulder button.

- It then stayed at the black screen, with the little white arrow instead of turning off...

- Then I jst started hitting "X" and whatnot (out of desperation really)

And you know what? The damn screen came up asking me if I wanted to downgrade :D
It downgraded just fine to 1.50 :)

Anyways, just posted this hoping that it could maybe be of help to someone out there...

Also the ultimate magic stick installer seems not to be compatible with 3.80:

- The full version cso refuses to start because of 2 prx
- The light (cso and eboot) version starts but produce ms wich doesn't boot with the battery.

So it seems wise to create a magic stick before upgrading to firmware 3.80.

pandora battery works. What doesn't seem to work are the programs to create them. But soon or later they will appear.

I had posted a 3.80 and previous fw compatible version (http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=80215) of the battery creator "clone" about 4 hours before you mentioned it :D it was a very easy fix because of your NID translator (thanks again for that) and some code SilverSpring made.

If I'm correct and I think I am (The legend above(Dark_AleX) me can tell for sure) is you can downgrade to 3.52m33 directly from 3.80m33. Then you can create a pandora battery and magic MS then go back up to 3.80M33.
In previous CFW's you could go from one to the other directly. I havent tried it but I'm sure thats still the case?

I've got a pandora battery and UPMS even with a nand backup so I have no worries of trying out anything as I've always got a backup 'just in case'.

I made my pandora battery already, but I haven't tried.
While we're on this subject, just wondering. How do I preserve the battery as it will be just sitting on my shelf for emergency purpose? Do i recharge it once a month?

I personally have had my pandora battery in a drawer for a few months, taking it out only every once in awhile to install M33 on a friends PSP or my (bricked) PSP. I've never charged it, but it's still at 100% somehow :)

Allready posted on the internet:
By cory1492 -> OS Pandora Battery Tool for 3.xx V5
and by hellcat -> pandora 3xx revision 3a

So have phun forum members.

Tested both tools on slim running 3.80M33-2, everything went okay!

If you already have a Pandora or UPMS stick it will still work, as Dark_AleX has stated it's the programs to install it that don't, thanks to Cory149 the battery section works but the writing of the IPL don't, we are looking into it.

I dont get it , why dont you use DCv3, stick it in, and install 3.71m33-2 with that? Doesnt that work if you want to go back to 3.71 from 3.80?

Yep, here Pandora and UPMS plus Multi IPL (built early with 3.71M33-4) work fine with 3.80M33-2.:D

I was foolish and didn't make a nand backup before going from 3.60 to 3.60M33 when I first got my slim.

My slim PSP is still using 3.71 M33-4, should I make a nand backup before going to 3.80 M33 just to be safe or does it not even matter?

Back-up is always a good move. By now I have 3 kind of them in my pc:

-nand-dump371M33-4-150addon.bin
-nand-dump380M33-2.bin
-nand-dump380M33-2-150addon.bin

I made them wishing that I never have to use them.
