GTA IV rated 18+ for Europe

According to the UK Playstation site, Grand Theft Auto IV has unsurprisingly been rated 18+ by the Pan European Game Foundation Pegi. The game also shockingly contains bad language and violence.

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest, every GTA game up to now have had an 18 certificate.

But as cokemusic1 said, a 12 year old will buy this, his parents see him playing this and beating someone to death, then Jack Tohmpson will use his 'Censor-sense' and create a damn law-suit about this!

£70 is too much when it has nothing to do with the game... for £10 more here you could purchase both the PS3 and 360 version. When you are done with the ps3 version the 360 version has it's expansion ready for purchase and unlock :D

most of the time i just mess around in GTA type games. i hope it has better multiplayer than saints row:D

here in the netherlands it's the same and GTA has always been like that. there is no actual law that forbids anyone selling games with such ratings to kids. I work at a game store and GTA is being bought by 10 year olds on a daily basis, even parents buy it for them. Most people here don't make a big deal out of it, while they are very aware of what such games contain.

Reminds me of when GTA:SA came out, I went to gamestation on the day it came out and the clerk asked me to buy it for some kid. I obliged :D
