Team Xtender have released some more news about their PSP2TV device. They say that the device is completely solderless, will come with a PSP faceplate for install, works on ALL televisions and clear up a few other misconceptions.

As per expected, the announcement of PSP2TV has caused an uproar of feedback to us here at Team Xtender, whilst this feedback and support has been incredibly overwhelming there stills seems to be a few of you who are confused about the compatability of this product. Initialy PSP2TV was designed to work with only LCD, Plasma and HDTV type TV sets, however we have continuously poured masses of finance into the development of PSP2TV in order to make it compatible with ALL TV sets and as you can see from the pictures released earlier this week, the PSP2TV is now compatible with ALL TV types! Just one more time to make it clear, PSP2TV will work with ALL tv types and not limited just to those fancy ones. Now, we'd like to take this opportunity to clarify a few other misconceptions you may have about the PSP2TV, firstly the PSP2TV install is a breeze - we guarantee it will take you less than five minutes to do as all it involves is changing the PSP face
plate (which we supply) and using the docking station to enjoy your PSP on the big screen! It's a super simple solderless install and suitable for ALL gamers regardless of D.I.Y panache.

As you have just read, we will supply a PSP faceplate with the PSP2TV free of charge as this is of paramount importance to the installation of the product. Well guess what ? You guessed right! We will be offering the PSP faceplates in the future as a standalone product at a competitive price.

Moreover they will be available in a range of vibrant colours including our famous liquid crystal, ruby red and brilliant blue to name a few. We hope this update has put your mind at ease and confirms your intuition that this is a truly revolutionary product for the PSP. You can expect us to release more information and a video showing you the install procedure in the near future. Once again we'd like to thankyou all for your support and look forward to more of your kind comments.

We almost forgot to mention, some of you have been commenting that the pic showing PSP2TV connected up to the TV was fake previously, however this isn't the case at all - it just so happens that one of our dumb beta testers forgot to switch the aspect ratio on the device and the picture became a little distorted!

I like this idea soooo much but to me it seems to be not the best idea to do this to your main PSP, due to the fact that you lose a little bit of portability and for me the use of the Logitech Hardcase. But I love this idea so much im gonna buy a seperat PSP just for it. And to anyone who says that is stupid, Its at the very least a UMD player, and also plays those beatiful PSP games on your TV hehe.

Will games/movies even look good on a bigger TV screen? I would think that since the quality of games and movies are formatted for a small screen, that when you connect it to the TV, you'd lose a lot of quality...have they already considered this problem?

I like most of teamxtenders stuff and commend them for a great product. but I won't be buying one of these because I don't see the reason for it. For one all the umd movies that are out for the psp are out on real dvds. And I really don't see a reason to play psp games on a tv if I want to play games on the tv I have a ps2. Also it just seems like alot of trouble (replacing the faceplate) and such just to make a portable system less portable. But good going to them for comming up with this I am sure it will be good for some just not me.

Hmm I take it that meant that it was initially only going to be compatible with Progressive Scan displays? And that it now works with common interlaced ones?

If that is the case, can this device switch the display back into Progressive Scan mode? If not, I'm not really sure that the above move was a good thing.. then again, as the owner of a LCD HDTV screen, I'd say that.

I called it, the aspect ratio was fudged he should have displayed it as 4x3 on the psp and 16x9 on the device or however this device works. It might just simply stream the video completely through in this case he should have streamed it at 16x9. this way it would have added bars on the tv yet it wouldn't look squished.

I am lyke totally 1337 n stuff.

I should have been a beta tester. I'm way more fuckin smart then this ass raper. SEND ME A PSP THINGY!!!! :-D

technically yes you will lose quality. But chances are the mainstream public won't notice. even most of the 1337. whenever you take a smaller image and blimp it it will become more pixelated. this can be corrected but not perfected. I don't know though I don't have a psp. I haven't ever watched a hacked psp. I haven't watched a movie on a hacked psp. If it looks even the slightest bit pixelated after you rip it off the dvd convert it and put it on the psp then yeah it's going to affect it. But from what I understand the psp uses mpeg4 which is a contained format. So I'm guessing it looks pretty sweet on your psp so it should look either sweet or decent on your tv.

and btw if your using a widescreen lcd when you buy this use the 16x9 stretch display with your device or your psp this way it won't make it will keep the picture in proportion and it won't do what that beta tester fudged up on.

if your usiong a regular tv use the 4x3 display option. Again this way no squished.

they are 2 completely different frames, the aspect ratio isn't what makes it fishy..pick a hair strand and compare. btw: they most likely got the excuse from your post in which you "called it". i really don't know what to think, real or fake.. maybe there's a latencey or something (which would obviously not be good).

I still don't know exactly what the bickering is about with the two differen't frames, the only thing that I started calling from the beggining and you are correct is the ar (aspect ratio) but if your talking about the seperation of 2 big strands of hair and they look closer together then the ar could be the problem. if one that is in a clear place on her head is not there when compared to the psp then your point still remains completely valid.
