I'm not sure thats true, i THINK they are starting to put the updates on game disks, like the PSP. Once they start adding hack fixes and patches they definatly will anyway.

If you get the latest issue of Xbox Magazine it has all the current updates/patches on the disk.

I don't think microsoft is giving the updates
and if yes then its the only legal way to get updates
else you need internet

games certainly contain the updates - devil may cry 4 has the latest update on it.

It's nothing new either, when I first got a 360 advanced warfighter prompted me to update when I first inserted the disc.
