Hey guys,
A friend of mine got a psp slim 3.71 for christmas and I tried to pandora/cementerio it to 3.71m33-2 but I think I used an order version and dropped it to 1.50. I wasn't able to unbrick it even after finding better directions and getting cementerio to v3.
So we just exchanged his broken one at walmart.
And guess what,... I just <censored>in bricked his new one.
This was a silver slim 3.60 and I followed directions from DCv3 but didn't do a nand dump. His PSP starts up but just goes to a grey screen and shows the daytime and batter stats (his last one did the same thing but it was a red screen). I've tried reflashing it to 3.71 in the DCv3 menu but it has the same problem.
I'm thinking I might have a bad memory stick that's corrupting data but after this one died it tried restoring it with another stick and it still didnt work.
Any help would be appreciated as I've definitely screwed over my friend.

Yeah I'm kicking myself for that now. Seeing as its a slim and cant just take another psp's nand dump are there any other options?

Is the recovery menu the one reached by holding the right trigger while booting?
If so I can't get to it.

You should be able to access recovery. It sounds like you have installed cfw, but you need to reset flash1 in the recovery menu.
Some people have trouble accessing recovery. Take the battery out of the PSP and put it back to ensure it has fully shut down. Then hold down the right trigger and keep holding it whilst you turn it on. Keep holding it until you see the recovery menu.
Then go to advanced and reset flash1. After it has done this it will boot and you will see a BSOD telling you to pressO.
At this point do a hard shut down by holing up the power button until the PSP fully shuts dowm. It should then boot up normally.

That was it. Thanks a lot.

Now you need to recreate the folders that are in flash1 and you need to redo DDCv3 with a PSP that has no wallpaper. That is what has caused this issue to begin with.
