It appears that a problem has been isolated to Phoenix Bios Loader that prevents normal gameplay with Enter The Matrix. Info as far as I know and have heard follows, hopefully there is more info / a fix available.

Basically, if PBL loads, ETM won't display video. Here's my experiences:

If I boot PBL (font hack) into any dash (have confirmed same behavior with EvoX, Ava, and Cplx) and attempt to run ETM, there's no video, you can hear the sounds, and u can even get into menus with start, etc. ; but you can't see anything. Of course if you boot from the disc everything works fine (yes, it's the actual retail disc). I was running 1.2 and upg`d to 1.3...same problem.

What I've heard:
Folks on forums.xbox-scene.com who have mod chips have successfully played both the orig game and backups to hdd and disc, when they don't use phoenix, but experience the same no video problem when they use phoenix.

is there a fix? or any info explaining what's going on? thanks.

Hey S@nto I remember talking to you about this before. Was it confirmed that the problem occurs when the game is played from both a backup CD and the HDD?

I beleive that there is another game that had the same problem. I THINK it could have been "Midnight Madness 3". Can anyone confirm this?

You can play Midtown madness 3 using phoenix loader v1.3 , but I canīt play enter the matrix, pirates of the caribbean(it works in some xbox :confused: )...

im using a1.2 LE green xbox i think its 1.2 anyway using PBL from audio hack i can confirm that midtown madness and pirates of the carribean both work for me with no problems im using the oem hard drive i havent got any blank dvd-r's here at the moment their due monday i will then be backing up all my games i will do a test through them all but all i can say for now is everything has worked flawlessly for me by the way im using 1.2 PBL and the latest executer bios something 77? sorry i dont know the exact it slips my mind

I have heard reports of people being able to play enetr the matrix fine with the phoenix BIOS loader.

Anyone able to confirm (artifex told me he has played backups of it, anyone else?)

I dont have a backup of it here to test if my mate can bring it over before anyone else confirms it i will let you know streight away.

I heard that ETM works using evox 6d bios, but I don't have the RC4 key of this bios to check it :mad:

I have checked it,and.... It works!!!! you only have to delete the xboxrom.bin and upload the evox 6d bfm bios(remember to rename it as xboxrom.bin) .

PS: use signed phoenix loader v1.3(xbins) and bigfonts 25.
