cwcheat not working with 3.71m33-4 & Sony 8GB memory stick.

I have a PSP Slim running 3.71m33-4. I tried running cwcheat off my 8GB Sony PRO Duo.

No go. No menu comes up when pressing select in UMDs.

Tried it on my Sandisk 512MB Pro Duo. It worked. (Although for some reason, in Disgaea, when I chose "Select Cheats", all the text appeared as black bars and I had no way to view the cheat list.)

After reading the FAQ that comes in the cwcheat archive, I determined my 8GB Sony Memory Stick was probably too slow due to its size. But it mentioned that I should be able to flash the prx file.

When I boot my PSP in recovery mode, and go to advanced, and enable USB on flash0, I can check the drive on my PC. But there is no "kn" directory as mentioned in the FAQ and in the various guides I've read. Only a "kd" directory.

What do I have to do?

The Sony 8 gig is one of the slowest sticks on the market. CWcheat and other plugins do not work well with slow sticks.


Try this:
Go to:
Tools -> Folder Options -> View
Show Hidden Files and folders
Hide Protected operating system files (uncheck it)

I enabled show hidden files.

I still see no kn folder.

I am on Windows Vista.

CWCheat works on a 8GB stick i have that some config on my psp and it works :)
I suggest you make a ms backup, then reformat you stick and first copy cwcheat files to your ms ...

That was the first thing I did.

It still didn't work.

Works on my smaller SanDisk though.

I'm willing to flash it to my psp...but there is no "kn" directory.

then it's kd. kn is only on firmwares with 1.50.

Hmmmm...
CWCHEAT works okay for me with my 8GB... I use irShell but had to disable irsauto.prx for it to work. I am also on a Slim if that matters...

Try using cwcheatlite.prx instead maybe?
