In my opinion i dont recommend cutting a pin. Sure you can use Booster's multi IPL loader, but thats IF you can cut the right pin. I tried it on mine and actually managed to rip the mobo off the battery...:eek:

Some better pictures would help maybe? With better macro and no flash (using good lighting) so we can see the IC numbers.
I know it's one of 2 chips, but since I can't read them I can't help.

Hi,
My apologies for the quality of the photos, unfortunately its the best I have. I did however manage to use a magnifying glass and read the information of the main chips on the board and label them in this photo. Which I hope will determine which pin needs cutting.

I think it's the one labeled;
593c
56b
56v58681
the pin at the top of the photo on the side closest to the arrow in the pic.

Edit:
See told you I'm not sure, but since I can't find a data sheet of the other 2 chips to see what they are, sorry.
Try one then the other.

Or:

depending if the chip is upside down or not. (what ever ends up being the ground)
Before you take my word on this (and blame me later), I would wait for some that has done this with a power max battery before.
So, I'm warning you now, I'm not 100% sure!!
I can guarentee you that thats not the right chip, if you look at any other photos of a fat batt that has a labeled IC04 chip you'll note that the input pins #1-3 are connected to the large chip at the same pins as the one i recommended.

Looks like no ones knows for sure :(
I feel like I'm in the movies should I go for the red or blue wire lol.
surely someone must know for sure ?

Try the one i suggested if that one don't work you can always just solder it back. but i'm 'bout 95% sure that it's the one. the fact that the board isn't marked makes it more difficult. looking at my batt the one that it should be has the pins in the same exact spot the chips are just in different locations and it's the pins that matter.

8810 = regulator
27408 = FET?
I'd go with the one you labeled 593C considering it has the right amount of tie ins to the microcontroller to be a prom. What I don't know is whether those datel batteries will pull up when it's disconnected (my experience with other types of datel batteries is that they pull low when stuff isn't connected, meaning you'd wind up with a autostarting PSP wrather than a jig battery).

I went with the suggestion of 593c which has failed. The battery won't come on now.
:(
God knows which pin it is.
It was worth a shot I guess, wish I had a happier ending.
Thanks anyways guys.

I think that as cory149 stated it is just one that wont work. It's a fake. well sorta. Solder the pin back together and it should be fine. if ya have a sony batt use that one.

Its a genuine max power battery bought in store, not sure why it didn't work.
I have my original battery which I'll use till I can afford or find another battery :(
