when i left the scene i think DA released 3.40 oe-a. when i came back because life got less hectic and i had to spend with my psp i see that DA goes in and out of hiding like the japanese tattoo hermit Hiro. now there's all these new firmwares and i'm wanting this 3.71 m33-4....but it seems a bit unclear how to get there from here.

currently i have 3.30 oe-a on a fatty. i know this is the lamest "help me i can't read" post ever. but i swear Liz Lemon i can't read.
nah since that one sticky that pspwad made has been inactive since 8/24 unless you are all the way up in the moment up to date on this scene you can get lost way fast. especially when there are 45 or 50 pages for a single thread. any help in a somewhat decent direction would be much obliged.

thanks :)

If you want to go to 3.71 m33-4 its a little complicated but here is how you do it, you need the official 3.52 update and the 3.71 update, you will also need the m33 install files for 3.52 and its update 3.52-4. you need to install that because of some incompatibility from lower cfw... after you upgrade to 3.52 than its fourth update, get the 3.71 m33 update and run it, it actually uses sonys own code to update so dont be alarmed, after going to 3.71 just install the 3.71-4 update, its up to you if you also want to install the 1.50 kernel or not, because some homebrew only works on it wile oters have ben ported...
also if you dont understand all that I said maybe somebody else could clear it up somewhat

From 3.30 OE install 3.52 M33
http://exophase.com/psp/download/3.52M33.zip

1 - If you are under official 1.50 PSP firmware, copy kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% folders from "1.50only/" of this download to your "ms0:/PSP/GAME/" and use it.
2 - Once done it, or if you are under any Special/Open Edition/M33, copy M33CREATOR folder to your "ms0:/PSP/GAME" (1.50fw) or "ms0:/PSP/GAME150" (SE/OE).
3 - Download official 3.52 eboot, rename it to 352.PBP and place it on "ms0:/PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR/" or "ms0:/PSP/GAME150/M33CREATOR/"
4 - Download official 1.50 eboot, rename it to 150.PBP and place it on "ms0:/PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR/" or "ms0:/PSP/GAME150/M33CREATOR/"
5 - Go to Games/Memory Stick on your PSP, and execute "3.52 M33 CREATOR". Once finished, it will go back to the XMB.
6 - Go again to Games/Memory Stick on your PSP, and execute "3.52 M33UPDATE". You'll have to press X to agree to the installation.
7 - When finished, press X to shut down and reboot manually.
8 - Enjoy your 3.52 M33 ;)

Install 3.52 M33 Update 4
http://exophase.com/files/psp/M33-1234.zipů
(If Psp Say "The game could not be started. Error (80020148)" do so:
Force turn off Psp. Press and hold press "R" button while turn on the psp.
Now you are in "Recovery menu".
Go on "configuration" and press "X" button.
Now go on "Game folder homebrew" and set it on "(currently: 1.50 Kernel)".

Put "M33Update4" folder in "GAME150" and run update.
(Ms0:/PSP/GAME150/M33UPDATE4/EBOOT.BPB)

Install 3.71 M33
http://exophase.com/psp/download/release.rar

First method for both psp, the prefered when possible:

Requeriments: a fat psp slim with 3.52 M33-3 or 3.52 M33-4. Previous versions of M33 won't work,
due to a bug that affects them and OE; or a psp slim with 3.60 M33.

- Copy the UPDATE directory into /PSP/GAME/UPDATE and copy the EBOOT.PBP of the 3.71 Sony updater
there but with name "371.PBP". Note: the program will not even show if you copy it to a different folder than that.

- If you are in the fat psp, make sure you have configured the psp to run the game folder in the 3.XX kernel.

- Execute the program, it requires 78% of battery. If you have idstorage corrupted due to a downgrader, the program
will ask you to correct it automatically so the update can continue.

- Press X, and the Sony updater will begin. Sit and enjoy while Sony code installs 3.71 M33 :)

- When finished, the updater will ask you to reboot (pressing X or O). DO IT. Do not skip this step
shutting down the psp by yourself, or you'll end with a brick.

- You should be now in 3.71 M33

Addon for kernel 1.50 v2
http://www.dark-alex.org/150kernel_addon2.rar

- Copy the program to /PSP/GAME/UPDATE
- If you have 1.50 addon, make sure you have the kernel of game folder configured to 3.71, or the
program will not even start.

This update is totaly independent of the 3.71 M33 version installed (1, 2, or future ones),
and also independent of previous 1.50 kernel addon installed or not.

3.71M33-4
http://www.dark-alex.org/m33update4.zip

Requeriments:
- Previous version of 3.71 M33

Instructions:
- Copy the UPDATE directory to /PSP/GAME and execute it.

Good Work.
