New KillZone 2 screens emerge

A variety of new images of the Playstation 3 exclusive due in 2008 known as KillZone 2 have emerged. Here is some of our pick from the bunch of available ones...

As if everyone wasn’t hyped up enough about it, Sony have decided to let more Killzone 2 screenshots slip out from the developer’s rendering machine.

There really isn’t much more to say about this, other than “here are some screenshots”, but we’ll be stalking this one as it nears release. Surely it can’t look as good as it did in THAT video…can it? Killzone 2 is being developed for PS3 by Guerilla Games, and will hit in 2008, on PS3 only.

eh these screens better be a mistake, the game looks ok i prefer COD to this. I wanna see some video to see if the physics are still as good as it was hyped to be before i make my decision on buying it...

i own an xbox 360, not interested in a ps3 as of yet, tho if this turns out to be as good as its hyped, and mgs4 staying exclusive, im very very tempted to fork over the cash.

I really, really hope that the ground on screen one is just the effect of an unfortunate blur filter, cause it literally made my eyes hurt and my mind dizzy. REALLY.

The rest looks okay, though some of the textures scream 'Oh dear god, PLEASE MAKE ME HI-RES!!!'. Still, the motion or depth or whatever-blur effects look plain stupid. Seriously, I know that human eye focuses on specific things and the rest becomes blurry, but, please, STOP trying to emulate this, it just DOES NOT work!

Good graphics, but average 8 hour gameplay.

I think -I hope- they are still as awesome as we saw in that in-game trailer they showed in E3 2007 or was it 2006? Or was it TGS?

This actually looks like it could be good. If a couple more good games come out for PS3 next year besides MGS (hated all of them) then I might buy one :D

P.S. It does look alot like Gears but thats a good thing which means I get more GeOW like graphics (which i love!)

If I want to see stuff I have never seen before I will play Crysis. If you havent played it then you should know it pisses all over Killzone's 'lighting' and indeed anything else shown by Sony for Killzone 2. Indeed the top left shot could be straight out of an N64 game its so blurry.

On the other hand. If I want to play generic FPS number 542 I will play Killzone 2.

Apart from a few fancy graphical tricks we have seen nothing of the gameplay of Killzone 2 that deserves this god like status that has been bestowed upon it.

Guerilla do not deserve the kudos they are getting until we PLAY the game.

Sorry I dont accept that mate.

You either have the confidence to show the true product or you dont.

'Goal movies' dont inspire confidence in any way, shape or form.

Its like years ago when they released arcade games on the C64, ZX Spectrum and the like, they would deliberately show the arcade game on the back of the box and you would load it up to be confronted with a complete load of crap that bore no resemblance to the box artwork.

That is just a joke. Why are we even bothering taking developers words for anything now?

Why photoshop it? Is it so bad that it cannot be seen naked and in living colour?

I can see this game getting panned when it comes out for things like this.
