Magicgate Help Required Please

Hi, I wonder if you can help! My son has a PSP but when you insert a memory card - genuine one! it does not state anything about "magicgate" you can go to the information (using triangle) but it does not say whether magicgate is supported or not! there are only 2 lines of text:

User Capacity 949 MB
Free Space 403 MB

there is nothing on the screen to state whether magicgate is there OR not... can anyone help me with this because a friends PSP states 3 lines of text as follows:

User Capacity 949 MB
Free Space 403 MB
Magicgate - Supported

wondering if there is something wrong with my sons PSP or is there any download we can put on it!

Whats your firmware but I doubt it has anything to do with it but it might help.You can test if its fake by seeing if the memory cards easy to open on the side were the finger dint is.
