Infectus works on Wii D2C, just 13 wires

The Infectus team has posted up a message that their mod works fine with the D2C Wii chipset and requires 13 wires which is inclusive of the gnd and vcc. They state that in the next few days, a new version of the programmer will be released for this functionality.

Good work guys! This is interesting. Hopefully someone will find a way to do the same with the D2CKey. Save us some time and money.

Sounds a lot better then the 31 wires that the d2ckey uses.

yes, install sounds better, but the infectus cost is much higher then D2CKey, so oyur not saving any money, BUT hopefully another team can get this working on a cheaper solution

They can. The infectus mod is just an FPGA, if I recall correctly.

Price difference isn't that much, in considering you are saving 20 wires on your install... that alone shaves almost an hour off the install.. Plus the infectus triples as a PS2 and full 360 mod, so its not like stocking 20 D2Ckey thats only useful on the wii.. Hard part is getting the damn things.

shaves almost an hour ? all the D2CKey install take like 35min ,
so Infectus will be like 13min ( 1min per wire ).

The most important is the fact of 13 wires, then when it becomes a reality, you can see the pictures and understand, what is it doing, you can read the signals input and output on infectus and try to make anoyher mod to take similar action but with least costs

I think, the D2CKEY, only need the same 13 wires, the rest of them is only to dificult the prosess to copy the mod
But now with this competitor , probably d2c key are going to a more simple install version too
