Wii key or dc2 key?

afaik you can't choose.. if you have a d2c wii then you can only use the d2ckey. And i'm not sure if the d2ckey works on d2b and below, if not you'd need a wiikey.

But was just asking is the dc2 key better to have than a wii key?

at the moment same deal really.. wiikey, d2ckey, cyclowiz, openwii can all do the same now at the moment (openwii i think? not sure)
D2Ckey was kinda cool cuz it didn't need a firmware upgrade for mario

Depends on how much you like to solder :)

The d2ckey is 28 wires and 2 jumpers, the wiikey is 6 wires, or direct solder.

Wiikey = DMS, D2A, D2B
D2Ckey = D2C

well can u tell me out of all the chips available which one is the best ? i was personally thinking wiikey as it has the firmware fix for smg :) bottom line i want the chip to play smg :D so will this be good and for future game's aswell :)

Whats a better setup (i.e. more futureproof) a D2B wii with cyclowiz V2 or a D2C w/ a D2CKey?

as it is right now, cyclowiz, wiikey and d2ckey all have the same compatibility and all can play mario just fine (so can openwii)

Does any know if the D2Ckey is updateable via DVD?

If it's not then I'd say Wiikey is more future proof.

Yeah I was going to ask exact same question. I have a D2C wii and I have no clue if it is upgradeable or not. If not then I am waiting awhile for a better chip. I don't want to get stuck with a modchip that I solder'd to 30 spots and then find out that to play a game in a couple weeks/months from now I will need a new chip because the thing is not updateable. But currently the D2C is the only one you could possible have with a D2C wii (this was to answer the original question.)

The d2c key is upgradeable via dvd (allegedly), but I think they don't anticipate needing an upgrade because the complex install and the ICMS is supposed to avoid the issue all together.

I think the advantage of the D2C key is not having to worry about firmware. Which is a HUGE bonus
