From what I've gathered in the other threads, the game won't work without the little update.. even though it doesn't change the firmware version... it doesn't work without it, hence you can't use brickblocker.

uhhh.... WHY don't you want to use the update??
You have a NTSC Wii.... a NTSC game WILL NOT DO ANY HARM.
Just run the bloody update.
*cough cough* Nintendo may start monitoring people with modded consoles because of this update.

If Nintendo were to monitor you, That would be an invasion of Privacy therefore, you may sue them for Invasion of Privacy

I agree.. Not that I'm a paranoid on stuffs like this (which i usually ain't) but he's got a point.. the fact that Nintendo placed a protection code on SMG indicates that Nintendo's not gonna tolerate piracy..
Kiok might be jumping the gun a bit too much by stating that SMg has an "anti-mod" update, its a bit too early for that.. but it could happen in the near future.. Once nintendo discovers that users worked a way around the protection code, who knows? maybe they will adapt a similar strategy that Microsoft did with the batch ban thingy... ( to be honest, people WERE able to find a way around the protection code of SMG even before the game's official release  that's enough to make 'em furious.. )
But rest assured, just like the protection code, people WILL find a way to overcome an "anti-mod" update if ever it happens.. ;)

If you're genuinely concerned about this, why even risk playing the Galaxy leak way before street date? That just screams 'Modded Wii'.
