the price has been lowered to what i'd call affordable , £285 (TESCO) is the cheapest i've seen it for which is pretty good , i'm hoping to trade in my ps2 and get a PS3 for £250-275 ($500-525)@Gamestation or Game.

It's true that you cant judge the sales just because the percentage increase but it does show that the 40GB PS3 is and will continue to be a good viable option for ppl who want to own a PS3. Is it only going to help them sell systems to people who wanted a PS3 but couldnt afford it till now or is it also going to help sell the system to ppl who see the $400 price tag and are deciding between this and the 360? People don't seem to understand that this war is far from over. No one has claimed victory yet. Over 150mil consoles were sold last gen and what ~40mil have been sold so far this gen with a split of ~40, 40, 20. Seems to me that the battle is far from over considering the majority of last gen sales didn't happen in the first 2 years of release. You must also take into account that the market has also grown considerably larger and will continue to grow.

I was enjoying it just fine until it crashed. For me, if something crashes, I tend to put it aside for at least a week, because I tend to play games only sporadically, but for long sessions. So if it crashes? I may not play for a while.

What Lair does have is amazing graphics, and really good production values. The control issues do not measure up, but they're not really any worse than the Rogue Leader controls. It is by Factor Five. Seems all they know how to do is make amazing looking games with mediocre controls.

And it's getting stuff soon. Anyway, it's like 4am I'm not quite sure if I have a point, other than to say that both the Wii and PS3 are kinda anemic on games. Five games? Come on.

But, the 360 didn't have 5 games I wanted in its first year. So, this is normal. It's just that the 360 has really increased its mindshare, and both the PS3 and Wii have tall hills to climb to reclaim forfeited glory. You seem to think that graphic is the key of a good game. Why do you think DS is so popular ?? Graphics? No, because the way it's played, same for Wii. I repeat myself. I someone came out with a virtual reality console but with gamecube graphics at 300$, everyone would buy it cause it's a new way to play games. Those are the main PS3 franchises? I'm glad I didn't buy a PS3. Heavenly Sword was a joke, the gameplay was great, however I wouldn't brag about having the greatest rental of all time. Motorstorm has no potential of being a franchise and Resistance won't become a big franchise player, because the PS3 is relying way too much on Killzone. The franchise games are Ratchet (which fails compared to Mario), MGS, and GT.

I was just having a laugh about the friends part but i was serious about the graphics, yes graphics makes aome games that bit better but the fact is that there is not a MASSIVE difference right not between the Wii and the PS3 or 360, yes there is a difference but have the people her seem to believe its more like the PS3 vs the Nes in the graphics department.

Also alot of people here seem to think that if a game looks great then that makes up for it being a piss poor game, you picture the worst game in history nd they release it on the 360 with the absolute best graphics the 360 has to offer, then people seem to go nuts thinking its brillient!
