if your psp doesn't recognize it anymore. you have to format it using card reader

use the recovery menu to access the card via usb and then format it with your pc.

Hi, I think I know what happened, cos I did the same thing. Before I did a mspformat on my MSPD, I wrote the IPL to it. Got the same result as you, when I put the memory stick in the PSP the memory stick light keeps on blinking, and it's unreadable by the PSP and the PC.

I solved it by putting it into a Memory Stick Pro adapter and formatting it using my Sony digital camera. You could try that too :).

Take out the memory card and start recovery mode. Put the memory back in and format with windows. Same thing happened to me and this worked fine;)

use the recovery menu to access the card via usb and then format it with your pc.

That only work with 1.50 based CFWs ... Like anything up to 3.52 M33....

3.60 and 3.71 recovery will use the same MS drivers as his XMB so will not detect his MS too ...

If it is showing as RAW then usually it is a corrupt Track0 and there is nothing you can do.

You can try this in dos:

format x: /fs:fat

where x is your mem stick. If it fails to format then it is fooked.

I had the same problem with my ms.
My ta079 and my cardreader wouldn't read the card, but my ta082 formatted the card just fine. So my advise to you is: if it's possible, try formatting the card in a different (model) psp

use this if your having problems reading the card.
the windows format gui is sh*t. either use command prompt or format using something else.

try this:
1. right click my computer, click manage
2. under Storage, click Disk Management
3. if you see your MS drive, then right click on it and format

It's not the PSP version ... It's the FW. I bet with you you had FW 1.50 on that TA-082. And yes it will even ask if you want to format the card if it's on the XMB while you plug it in.

Nope both PSP's were and are 3.71M33-2+1.50v2.
(the TA082 even has its orginal key5)

You could try what I said, cos I did fix my own memory card which was having the same symptoms as yours.

the only thing I see possible for you to do is format the memory stick with your PC using a 1.50 based version of PSPFiler. Just boot PSP filer from a working MS, swap it for the problematic one once PSPFiles is running then press triangle and up on d-pad to turn on the USB port. Use Windows to format the stick.

That will cause the PSP to run in kernel 1.50 (from the 1.50 add-on) and it will detect your stick.
