it always happen in the same exact moment, ive tried a "empty" nand dump downloaded from here cos i didnt have mine, ive checked idstorage and its working perfect, (i can run 1.50 firmware from the memory stick)..
when i try to install fw 1.50 with pandora i get a "psar error panic"...
all i can do is run 1.50 from ms, ive also tried to install 3.40oe, 3.03oe, 3.10oe
but it always give me "incorrect psar error" and i know that the the pbp's are ok and i tried various of them..

so.. can i do something else that doesnt involve microwave it or anything like that, i feel like im way too close to unbrick it...

Try a different memory card? I had a card here a couple weeks ago, that if I wrote the same file with various names to it 5 times in a row, copied them back off only 1 out of the 5 checked out to be the same as the original.

You should also check the hash of the file right on your MS. The correct 3.71 PBP updater should have a hash of:
MD5 6BABEE6E1415AE27999928566ADBD569
SHA1 07F01412992B072FD330E66D3AD05E1B71B6520A
CRC32 DD6352DE
program to get the hashes if you don't have one:

i was thinking to do that as one of (if not the only) things to try before surrender and get a slim =S
ill try that tomorrow and post what happened
by the way, the memory stick im using is a 1gb sandisk that never gave me any problem, tomorrow ill get a non fake 2gb sony from job to see if it was the memory stick.. i hope so, after trying everything else i dont know what other thing could it be..

ok ive tried two different brand new genuine sony memory sticks, one of 1gb and other of 512mb, three diferent card readers, made them magic from zero with good copies of the archives (hash checked) and ive obtained exactly the same results i had with my 1gb sandisk ms... :(

ive formatted physically the nand with the clean one that cory has in his page using nand tool and everything, but still, even with the other memory sticks i get that "PSAR decode error, pos=0x00BAA910." with unbricker v3 when i install 3.71 and that "psar panic error" with the old pandora when trying to install 1.50 fw..

is there anything else to do before microwave and all that? :o

Don't get fooled, the flash memory is not reset by shorting a battery. For PC motherboards, the method is working because it's got CMOS memory that is battery backed-up. Without battery power, the CMOS memory is loosing it's contents so you can have a fresh start.

Flash memory works differently, it doesn't need battery power to keep the contents. And thus it isn't erased by removing or shorting a battery. The only thing you could achieve is that the battery explodes. The battery on the PSP main board is just to keep the clock running when the main battery is removed.
