View Full Version : Playstation Store comes to PC & Download content to PC for PSP no need for PS3
Sony has confirmed that it is possible to access the Playstation Store via a regular PC. Obviously you will not be able to play demos directly but videos and such content will be available. And all your PSP owners haven't been left out, you can download content through the PC without having to go through the PS3. The URL is currently announced but should be live soon.
Sony announced today at its TGS 2007 press conference that users will now be able to access the PlayStation Store via their PC. While you obviously won't be able to play demos this way, videos and such will all be accessible. Also, PSP users will now be able to download content to their system by way of their PC without having to go through a PS3, helping those who don't own Sony's latest console.
We'll have more information on this as it becomes available, including the unannounced URL.

There is also program on that site you need to download called PSN Downloader but I think its restricted by region because I cant download it.
I don't think there is a US Store link available yet.

why the hell can't you just do the whole god damn thing on PSP with just wifi ? Dumbass sony dragging their feet on obvious glaring issues
i guess this will benefit the people who don't have internet access on their PS3 they can probably download the purchased games to a usb stick and install it on the PS3...

Why can't we just access the store with the PSP? It does have WiFi.

you can't download demos that way you would be only able to download game and movie trailers, but i do see your point though remote access and all that, maybe sony will catch on.

have you tried using a Proxey server for that region?
why don't Sony just make everything region free and be done with it, they'll end up with more money anyway...

so very true, most of the time it feels as if we are the ones funding their markets...
even down to the fact the wallet works different in the UK in that you cannot add only the amount required to complete the purchase but have to keep excess funds in your wallet, (eg. £6.50 game requires £10 to be added to your wallet)... just look at all that extra cash sitting in peoples wallet earning Sony interest...

yeah tell me about it, i want to get the new loco roco screen saver for £1.99 but i have to deposit £5 in there first and i don't want to do that :S why can't i simply just do a direct card purchase of £1.99 instead of having to give them excess amount of money?

I was able to topup exact amount of currency needed to purchase titles back in August from PSN UK store. Somehow they removed this feature now
