Hi,
Just found out im unable to chip myWii :(
Apparently Nintendo have chopped off the solder where the wires would have gone to the wiinja chip!!!
Does anyone know if there is away around this or anyones else had this problem?
Thanks in advance.

sounds like you have a d2b missing pin model unless theres a even newer one than the d2c out now if it is a d2b missing pins model it can be chipped have done loads of them just requires extra work

Hi,
sounds like i have the d2c as he told me it had three pins missing!
he also told me that it could be chipped but he wasnt going to risk it as some plastic needs to be cut away from the board!
I just dont know what to do at the mo? tell this guy to do it and take a risk or wait for an alternative option:confused::confused:
Thanks
Paul...

I dont think any D2C chips have their legs cut off, I would assume you have a D2B with the legs clipped.
Which case you can still mod it, you just have to use a dremel put it on the lowest speed and slowly grind away the area on the chip covering the 3 legs then solder those 3 connections once there exposed. Thecheekymonkey made a tutorial for this operation and posted it somewhere on this forum.
if you ever want it modded you have to do this or find someone that will, otherwise buy a different Wii. Good luck.

Thanks for the info:) looks like i might have to bite the bullet and ask this guy to give it a go:eek: i think he knows how to do it because he did mention a dremel. but i dont think he has actually done one yet.
If anyone has any more help i would appreciate it.
Many thanks

This is what it looks like if its done right.
Spacing between pins is .5 MM or .019 inches so this is for someone with really steady hands. If its your friends first time trying this then he might want to find something like a old/dead hard drive that has a similar style chip with same .5 spacing and he could practice grinding and soldering a few times before he tries it on yours.
I also have this tutorial in my bookmarks that might be of use http://www.wiikeyguide.com/images/WiiKey-Install-Diagram-Guide-D2B.pdf

you can try this site enter the serial #, it was accurate for mine but some people said it wasnt accurate. its better off to just buy a tri wing screwdriver an open it the Wii up. took me all of 10 min to open and close the Wii.
