UMD Movie Will not load?

Hey guys
I went out yesterday to go shopping and i brought 28 weeks later umd.
The problem is i Completely forgot that my PSP is JAP, and i live in australia.
The movie is R4 but i was just wondering if, when you put the umd in, Should the
umd still show in the XMB? Because it says region code error. So i thought i should RIP it to ISO but... after the region code is incorrect screen nothing happends it does not show a disc as being in the drive.
I cant rip it using any homebrew as it freezes the PSP when i try to load the disk?
Do you think the umd is broken? or is that normal for it not to recognize the disk completely?, i know its not my umd drive because my Games still work :)

i assume youre on some form of custom firmware, if so, just go into recovery mode and set the region to the region you need.
also whats stopping you from booting the homebrew and THEN loading the umd?

I did go into the recovery and change it many many times..
to AUSTRALIA and EUROPE.
And i also done free UMD Region. but no it does not work.
And yes i do run the homebrew programs, UMDtool, fastloader, pspfiler 3.8, umd dax dumper, heaps!!! but every time i put the umd in the psp it will freeze every program i use even the XMB when i try to copy my disc with m33 3.52-4
