ex ps3news mod looking for a job

I was a mod on ps3news till I stood up for all the users that got thier PSPs bricked in the crap thats going on over there atm. In the thread to Daniel from DA I posted a lot of info and my thoughts on the situation.
I was never really happy with the way he looked after the site there but if I stood up I know I would've got booted and this was the last straw for me. This time he went to far.

I did a good job there for the last 2 years and I'm mainly looking to help out the people that get stuck.

I have a few consoles, PSP, Wii, 360, PS2, DS Lite all modded so I know a bit about everything but I'm mainly into the PSP now as I find it the easiest to mod (software) and all the homebrew that comes and goes can bring new features and also bugs that people need help with.

As I'm not needed in ps3news anymore, well I got booted so no use going back there, I'm looking for a new place to lend a helping hand. Over the next few weeks you should see me posting more frequently, giving all the help I can where its needed.

If I dont get a mod's position it wont stop me helping out anyway. :)

Oh admins, just ask Dark Alex what I've done. I PM him with details and he can confirm I'm no mole.

As I said I dont care if I become a mod or not yet. If I help others out then thats enough for me and I can do that as a normal user. Just I can also do more as a mod but I know it will take a few weeks/months or whatever.

Get your facts straight before bad mouthing people. Mods there CANNOT ban anyone. All they can do is delete posts. All I did was delete posts with swearing in.

PS3NEWS himself is the only one that can ban people there.

Will people stop flaming me as I am NOT PS3NEWS and I now have nothing to do with them. I was a mod there that ONLY deleted posts with swearing, the rest was done by PS3NEWS NOT the MODS!

BTW, Thats why I got banned. I also spoke up about the file editing. If you want proof I got a screenshot of my last post there complaining to him about it. I will post it here if you want to see. You wont find it there as it was in the staff forum.

In context I was speaking about how people would be banned for submiting links, but the mods would use the links you submit and claim it as their own.

Yea, I think I will take a while off. I was a PSP mod there for 2 years so I did something good as I got no complaints (that I know of) and didnt get de-modded till I stood up for the scene. I didnt agree with the way he did things there but had no choice if I wanted to keep helping out.

Yea, I got deleted from there for standing up for all the people in the PSP scene who got thier PSP's bricked because of what he did. Doesn't that say something about me? I keep repeating myself and I will again. I had nothing to do with the corruption PS3news did to his site. The mods there have nothing to do with the files as even if we did submit files he still goes through them and mods them the way he wants. It's proof with the xbox360 firmwares. On his site they are all modded his way. I dont trust anything on that site and never really have.

I also said in my first post I dont care if I get to be a mod here or not, just as I've had experience its still a good start. Who cares which site, 2 years experience as a mod is better than none.

Oh, if you knew what I did to the site after I got deleted would change your minds.

I might have to think twice before standing up for others in the future.

It certainly is not up to any member here who is made mod however I would have to say it stands to reason that based on your resume you will not be getting a job here.
I was admin/mod of a very large software/security forum for more than 7 years, I know the work that is involved, if I were ever to be a mod here, personally I would prefer to be offered the position by the site admin, not ask for it.
It's nice just being a member for a change, I suggest you do the same :)

If you really want to be a mod here, the best thing you can do is PROVE that your worth the help you can provide. Rack up some meaningful posts and the admin will be able to judge for themselves whether or not your worthy. There are a lot more guys on here that really do deserve to be mods based on this.

Nothings happened to you...so some people jumped to conclusions and wrongfully attacked you. If your going to be a mod you need thicker skin than that.

There are literally dozens of people here who have been mods or otherwise deeply involved in the scene at one point or another some with the same nick others with different ones...some of them go back over 10 years, but they dont care about being Mods. Being a Mod is a privelidge not a right and is usually reserved for those who contribute to the site. Frankly I think there should be a 1000 meaningful post minimum before anyone is even concidered for the job. Just because someone has helped out somewhere else doesnt mean they have done anything here. The best mods are the ones who are asked to do it based on their contributions to the community not the ones who ask for it.
