Hi guys, i have a old xbox 360(dead) with (modded)Hitachi 47D drive and a new xbox 360 with orignal samsung MS28 drive. Now because i already modded the Hitachi drive i thought that i could just connect it and iam done.

But thats not true so i saw. it says put disc in xbox 360 console. Now i had a old modded Hitachi so i recently reflashed (first restored) with the C4Eva 1.2 rev2 FW. I think that is the latest. But still it doesnt work.

And to flash a MS28 is not that simpel i read ? Because it can only be done with a VIA compatible Sata card. Or is it simple to Flash a MS28 i have a intel chipset Sata card. I hope you guys can help me.

Some guys mentioned some keys that i need for the Hitachi. I never understood that part.

So please can some one explain what iam doing wrong here ?

You can't just swap the drives over to another machine

If you want to do that you have to get the key from the hitatchi one and flash that key into the samsung one so that the drive and the motherboard have the same key

But if your doing all that you might as well judt flash the samsung drive in the new machine

Well id like to Flash the Samsung MS 28 drive but i read every where that its not that simple compared to a samsung MS25 drive. Am i wrong ? Like i said in my first post every one says that for a MS28 drive you need a VIA Sata card. i dont have one and dont wanna buy one.

Well unless you buy one, then I don't think you're gonna be able to get very far...

As mentioned before, your only option is to get the drive key from the firmware of the ms28, and insert this to the hitatchi one, and then emulate the hitatchi drive as a samsung drive, or flash the ms28. Both options require you (as far as I know) to have the via chipset sata card.

They're only around $15 or £11 (depending on locale). There are lots of sellers on ebay. Just do a search. If you don't wanna buy it, then get someone else to flash it for you...

If you don't want to buy a via chipset card then you are not going to be able to flash your ms28 end of

Your only other option is to pay a man to do it

I live near london if it's an use to you

MS28 drives are just as easy as MS25 drives. You just have to turn off the drive and then turn it back on just before you select your MTKflash command of either (1, 2 or 3 etc.).
The MS28 only have a small 'window' of opportunity to allow them to be read or flashed, this window occurs just as you turn it on. I've found some are easier to time then others due to bigger/smaller 'windows'.
