I cant connect my wifi max to my psp! Im on mac osx

Hi, i have been searching the internet for literally four days trying to find an answer but no luck! Okay, so i bought a wifi max in order to play psp online. I have broadband on a mac with a d-link router. I have the zydas program and know how to set it up but i cannot get a connection in it. The problem i think is that i can't set up the connection in network in system preferences. In many guides i have seen it says to connect the wifi max to the mac and then go to network in system preferences and a pop up will come up stating a new network. I followed these instructions and clicked accept. Now is where the problem comes in. I choose to use DHCP like stated in guides and no ip address comes up. Guides tell me if this happens to click renew DHCP lease and it will show up, tried it - didn't work :-( I have also gone into my router settings and enabled DHCP as far as i know. But still no luck. Please please please help :-S i was so excited for this gadget but cannot get it going.

I'm not too familiar with what zydas is..

But I have used Xlink Kai for online gaming on my PSP (Monster Hunter)

and you do have 2 network connections correct? Wifi max and an internal network card to connect to the net, while the wifi max connects to the PSP?

well i have all those things but i cannot get it to connect as explained above, any help anyone?

UPDATE:
Ok so a little advancement, I figured out how to put manual settings into the network place in system preferences. The computer now acknowledges that it is connected and has a green circle next to it. Now in zydas i still cannot get it to show up in the connection list, however, when i change from infrastructure mode to ad-hoc mode underneath the connections list appears this:

Link Status: Connected to Ad-Hoc. BSSID=6e db 28 21 b7 5e
Signal strength: 89%
Link Quality: 92%
TX frame: 310 RX Frame: 0

but there is still no connections in the connection list and my psp cannot find it still.

What am i doing wrong? Also am i meant to use infrastructure mode or Ad-hoc??

between your PSP and the wifi max you are using adhoc I believe
make sure your PSP is set to that as well that it is set to channel 1 (I think)

Im getting so angry about spending lots of money on something i cant use :-(

oh thanks but unfortunately I've tried them both already, no luck :-( do you think its a setting on my router i need to change?
