Hi all,

A slightly annoying problem that ive got with my PSX games on M33 3.52 here, when i copy an EBOOT.pbp and a KEYS.bin files for any given game onto my PSP i always get a corrupted icon, presumably from the KEYS.bin file, even though ive set corrupted icons to off in the recovery menu.

My games all work fine, so its not really a major problem, just ticks me off a litte, is there anyway to make the corrupted icons dissapear please?

Many thanks in advance.

P.S: One other thing, can i accidentally update my FW at all on M33, i dont want a little brother/sister do do it by mistake. TIA.

EDIT - Just deleted my KEYS.bin files and the corrupted data icons are gone, but the games still run, i thought KEYS.bin was needed to run PSX games one M33? In fact, im sure mine didnt work until i included KEYS.bin? Would be suffer grateful if someone could expalin the significanc eof the Keys.bin file please? Thanks.

Keys.bin was needed in the first revisions of the cusom fws, because there was the bad need to use sony's data.psp and param.nfo straight from hot shots golf 2 dump.
Dark Alex perfected his work , using in his lates CFW revision, a custom made data.psp and param.nfo, patching the pops in another way. Also the DRM protection was hacked in a different way so it wasnt needing the keys.bin file anymore. Also, since the eboots were compressed, the compression was retro enginereed and it was made publically available in his popstation.exe. Also compression doesnt need keys.bin anymore (previously the files werent compressed).
The enhanced patching on the pops made the keys.bin unusefull, beside the possibility to use a totally "legal" base.pbp without copyrighted material.
I adivce to convert your game again cos prolly it isnt compressed.
