could be anything from a loose connection to the dvd rom to a loose connection from your psu to the system. you don't by any chance have the nyko intercooler connected do you?

nope, it was a new system (manu july 2007), i'll check the connections when i get home, and try to reflash it since it goes into mode b fine

i'll also try to use the error code to pinpoint exactly what is at fault, but its kinda weird it just shitted out on me like that

don't try reflashing until you get the error code, may not be your flash afterall it worked the first time

i'm getting 0102, so this really sucks, considering it was a new system i had in my hands and played for less than 5 hours total.. lol

sucks considering this is a new console, and is supposed to be the one with the 65nm chip

j/w any way to try to fix it, since its a new console and supposively has the 65nm chip in it, along with the new heat sink?
well the system definately doesnt have the new 65nm chip yet as they haven't been released. good news is that error code isnt a bad flash, bad news is it sounds like you possibly nudged the heat sink thats on the gpu. you could try doing the xclamp replacement or reseating the heatsink with the xclamp and reapplying some thermal compound but if your taking the heatsink off anyway you really should just replace that pesky old xclamp
