Hey gusy. I really need help with a problem ive had. Ive tried posting this everywhere, to limited results. All the information about it is in that thread, but it didnt really go anywhere. I really just want my PSP back to normal and enjoying homebrew.
Has anyone encountered anything like this or do you know of a way to fix this?
Thanks

Well 1.50 kernel is required for the PSP to even boot up. Basically, if you ruined you're 1.50 kernel, you would never see that beautiful IRShell :). But I can't really figure out what you HAVE done exactly... perhaps you've bricked your Vsh and you're Recovery mode (but left 1.50 kernel intact)... either way, it's very lucky you had IRShell autoboot enabled and even luckier that it works. You may yet have a chance of saving you're PSP... unfortunately, I'm not experienced enough to tell you how.

Edit: Try switching to 1.50 mode (Press L+R, then press square) then put the 3.52 M33 installation program into the game folder and launch it from IRShell. If it manages to boot, you can get a fresh install.

Hmm. Probably. Ive even tried a Recovery Menu EBOOT, as I said on the 1nd page. They work at first, til the gameboot fades and the PSP crashes.
The exact files I changed wree:
Flash0/KD/impose.prx
Flash0/KD/Resource/Impose.rsc
Flash0/KN/impose.prx
Flash0/KN/Resource/Impose.rsc

Are you able to switch to 1.50 kernel (using L+R then square)?

If possible launch USBSSS. You can write to flash in there.

Nope. It black Screens and then fades after 30 seconds.

This uses the 1.5 kernel so I cant launch it :(

USBSSS is read only

try putting a recovery eboot in the autoboot folder (you said you tried to load it, but didnt say if you tried to autoboot it, unless i skipped over it), if it autoboots to irshell, it should autoboot to that too, from there just flash back the things you messed up

obviously youll need another psp or a card reader to replace the eboot

No, see, it autoboots to IRshell using a special PRX released with IRshell 3.6.
Besides, Im almost positive that the files I moved also corrupted my recovery mode. On page 2 of the link I posted, I listed the ones that ive tried. All of them failed

dunno whether this work..but i never tried.

use patchsfo to patch the pspfiler from kernel 1.50 to 3.XX.
then use irshell to lauch launch pspfiler with kernel 3.XX (3.52 for example)

i attach 2 zips for u. in the pspfiler zip contains eboot.pbp n eboot.pbp.backup.
eboot.pbp - is the one i patch to work with kernel 3.52
eboot.pbp.backup - is the original one for kernel 1.00

hope this help. good luck :)

then put 150.pbp n 352.pbp to it.
put the BOOT folder to GAME folder?
n try to autoboot it to make data.dxar version of 3.53 cfw?

@Organic: OMG THAT ALMOST WORKED! I can get into PSPFiler, but that version is PSP filer 1.5! I only have Read-Only access, so I cant rewrite the files back to the flash! DAMN READ ONLY!
Could you posssibly do that, but with a version of PSPFiler like 3.7/3.8 so that I can have Flash access but a 3.52 kernel?
Thanks SOOOOOO Much! :D :D :D :D :D

Okay, I REALLY understand how annoying these bumps are, but could someone PLEASE convert a newer version os PSPFiler so I could fix my PSP once and for all?

OK now try this PSPFiler 3.8. It's been converted to supposely work with yr iRshell. Try i n reply.

So replace the IRShell eboot w/ the recovery eboot... it's not rocket science.

Ugh. I really dont want to sound like a ****, but Ive said this before:
Even If I did that, my 1.5 kernel isnt working so it wouldnt boot up anyways!
And its a special IRShell PRX that I use to autoboot IRShell from. So supposing I could run things with a 1.5 kernel, Id need to find a version of IRShell that has Flash0 support built in.
Im not using the autoboot feature from recovery! Its from a completly seprate prx that is ENABLED via recovery.

Organic: Thanks! I will try it RIGHT away!

I just want Homebrew again

o man. i just used the same conversion method like the previous pspfiler1.5. dunno really what happen to yr irshell since the method of conversion in pspfiler w1.5 works but not 3.8. maybe try in diff folder. say GAME150 or try all folder GAME n GAME3XX.

Sorry can't help much.

Damn... that really does suck. Thanks a whole lot for trying though! If they only made 1.5 with Flash access...
But thanks for the idea! I can try the batcher with other things. Slash N Flash, Flash Agent... see if I get any progress.

But really, THANKS SOO MUCH! Even if my PSP isnt fixed (yet)

I assure you, if your 1.50 kernel was completely broken, your PSP wouldn't boot at all. Seems like it's worth the try to replace the eboot for someone in your position at least. I know what the "special IRShell prx" is, it comes with IRShell version 3.6 and is designed to load the EBOOT.PBP from a location in the IRShell folder... replacing this EBOOT with a custom one would theoretically load the custom one instead. I'm not telling you it's definitely going to work, but it's worth a try, don't you think?

You are not the only one who's having this problem :(. Have the exact same symptoms, no recovery menu, homebrew doesnt load, ISOs are the only thing that work. I have no way of accessing flash0 or the recover menu to copy a backup over or reinstall the CFW. So I guess I'll have to stick to playing games for now. I miss PSPRadio and some other homebrew apps though :o

Btw this happened to me after using installing cintro while putting on a new theme. I hope you get your problem fixed :)

BTW if a downgrade for 3.52 comes out, could one use that on 3.52M33 and go back to 1.5 and then reflash to a custom firmware again?

Nice to see that someone agrees with me... feels my pain.

The only method I can think of that will work is waiting for firmware 3.60 to come, then upgrading to that and downgrading when it becomes available...
Tell you if I make any progress

Maybe now you can use the Pandora's Battery trick to reflash your PSP :)

I certainly will try it if I can get ahold of a psp able to run homebrew. Which might be a problem since none of my friends have one

Someone whos not chicken-**** to lend me their PSP :D
