GC Controller not working with Config1.2 disk but working with MFE

This is the strangest thing....

I have a Wii thats chipped with a Wiikey and works fine. But the GC controller won't work with the Wiikey 1.2 setup disk.

I can navigate the menu with the reset button, and when I select MFE it works fine once MFE is booted. It also works fine with a straight up mfe_disc_creator disc.

The GC controller doesn't work in the Snes emulator menu, the main disc menu or the DVD dumper menu.

SDLoad hangs the system, and GCOS resets the system.

I've burnt 2 copies with 2 different ISO made buy the config1.2 disc app.

Any ideas?

Connect the GC controller to the first connector which is the first one closed to the wii power switch.

I've tried all the GC controller ports.

Why would it work with MFE and then not with the other menus if was just the wrong port?

I don't know. I don't even know what that means? It's a non-genuine controller that I got off ebay.

I'll look into, it could be the answer.
