IRShell issues

Hi guys, just started using the new irshell properly today on my PSP - its been installed since the weekend but today has been my first chance to have a real play with it and I have a couple of issues. My PSP is running 3.52 m33v2 with a custom theme


A: The pspbtcnf patcher included in the install wouldn't run on my PSP, well it ran, just not succesfully

I get a "pspbtcnf.bin filesize mismatch, abort!" message and then can exit to xmb, at this point irshell begins to run and seems to work fine (i can launch my ISOs through directory view still but i presume this patch should let them boot from the irshell menu?)

B:when running irshell in 3xx mode my MP3 files won't play, i can select them and hit start play but nothing happens, I have to either switch to 1.5 irshell or quit to normal xmb for the mp3 files to play (and yes my volume is turned up and not muted)

If anybody could throw any light on this two issues i'd really appreciate it

Well #1 suggests you've done something custom to the firmware you're attempting to upgrade.

To fix #1 I'd suggest a 1.5 recovery, then up to the latest m33.

As for 2, sorry, don't use my psp for mp3 playing so couldn't tell ya :(

Thanks dude - I was thinking along the same lines ;)

I don't recall editing pspbtcnf for any theme i've installed recently but maybe i did :o
I'm gonna reflash to be on the safe side and then try the patcher again, now just to figure out whats stopping the mp3s playing.... :confused:

i think the file got modified because of a them, because other ppl rported the same,
about the mp3 not working make sure you have the prx enabled, and if it doesnt work you can delete config.se on f1
and reinstall irshell

im telling you this because it happened to me and thats how i fixed it

thanks xllzerollx - just in process of reflashing 352 anyways so i'll try a fresh install and report back, out of interest - did your mp3s function in 1.5 mode of irshell? thats the thing thats puzzled me mostly, why do the mp3s play in one version but not the other?

Anyways, I was rambling there - cheers again and i shall report back ;)

Before you flash 352-2 try just 352. Something probably changed in -2 that's the problem.

will do, just backing up my m/s first so i can do everything afresh (probably time i changed some of the games anyways!)

reflashed 352m33 v1 and irshell is working as should be, gonna try the v2 update now but i can't envisage a problem, i'm more concerned that i managed to alter my pspbtcnf.bin and then forgot :o

yea,
all the problems i had with irshll were only on 3xx version,
1.5 version always worked like it should.
