Sorry to seem like such a noob but I cannot get this to work at all.

I am not a noob, I have been using PSP homebrew and ISO's since day one, I have a JAP PSP 1000 and a US PSP 1000, I never had a problem with any of Dark Alex's OE Custom firmware.

The main problem is that when in the Sony NP9660 no UMD mode, when I start a game, as soon as the white Sony Playstation Portable screen fades to black, the PSP freezes. I was previously using CW 340 OE-A and went to 3.51 M33 but found that when in normal mode, (UMD must be used) after l start a game the white Sony Playstation Portable screen fades to black then seems to freeze but if I open the UMD drive the grey screen appears saying "Do you want to quit the game Yes/No" just like I have pressed the home key. If I close the UMD drive the mem stick light flashes for about 5 seconds then all goes black again.

If I choose the M3 driver quite a few games work flawlessly, others give the game cannot be started error.

I have reflashed the M33 firmware a number of times but cannot get the new Sony ISO loader to work at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Forget it, I sorted it out, checked all setting against a working 3.51 M33 PSP and found that all the settings in the Advanced Configuration menu within the recovery menu were set to enabled on both my PSP's. Set them to disabled and both are now working fine.

Not sure what caused this to happen on both PSP's though.

Search for the flash1 formater and use that as it cures all manner of strange things on OE and even M33. When you reboot the psp after formatting it you will get a blue screen with lots of languages telling that your settings are corrupt and tells you to press O to reset to defaults (rebuild a new flash1).

I have only tried a few games in the new np9660 driver as i don't use no-umd much but it's worked ok for me so far.

Nice one tiamatloc, I remember using that when I could save my wallpaper.
