R4 Chinese Version

I went to Hong Kong to visit my family and I found that they sold R4 flash carts for super duper cheap prices. I can navigate through the chinese menus pretty well (but i can't do any advance stuff if there is any). Is there a way to change the language to English? I've looked all over the Internet that would relate to anything like this but I haven't found any. Thanks! :D

With the very first batches of the R4, you could change languages by soldering or desoldering a pad on the PCB. This was quickly fixed however, and while techincally it's still possible now, it's much much more difficult to safely do it.

great...so there's no solder-free way to do this then?

chances are if you got it really cheap, its one of the newer "gen" r4's, and most likely wont be able to change the language, not that its really hindering since there are no real advance options, and all language sets are kept on the rom anyways
