I'd wait if I were you. I have a ds with no means of loading roms because its still too soon. The g6 is coming out which promises to be interesting, and I'm sure it will be perfected soon.

I have in hand now, a XG2turbo 2005 512 and a Passme from lynx at dspassme.com (great product BTW, get the GBC version if you get one, its much better than the one I have). I can confirm, this specific cart is not ever going to load any DS stuff (see which stuff below) but hopefully I will be able to exchange it for one that doesnt have quite so sloppy soldering on the pcb.
All I can say is, its risky getting any XG products, as they are not all made equal to eachother and support is nearly nonexistant unless you count the development of NeoKit to be compatible with XG carts. Just check out xgflash2.com, its been down for at least 3 days now...
(currently the 512 I have here will not load any GST DS stuff for me, and I have had problems loading any DS Homebrew that has sram saving builtin unless its from Darkains bootloader for HomeBrew)
edit:/ it would appear I have finally found one DS "HomeBrew" app that will run on this fragged up XG cart- Dark Monsters Magickey Tools, buuuttt - it says "1G not supported yet" which is just plain wrong for this cart, being a 512mbit...which DMT's tool does work with (a friend of mine confirmed this, it detects the 512 XG as a 512 neo...)
