I sold my ds so I can't test myself. I have a Games n' Music card and a G6 lite I'm getting rid of and the buyer has no passcard or flashme installed. If this is not possible...can the GnM be used as a passme? Thanks.

As long as you can launch flashme.nds from the device, you should be able to install FlashMe.
And yes, the GnM can also act as a NoPass device.

I have a GnM, and before the DLDI came out I used the GnM as a NoPass for my GBAMP CF. Just remove the microSD and it works as a NoPass. Also, although I haven't installed FlashMe myself, it should work, I don't even think FlashMe needs a DLDI patch, just run it as-is from the card.

The benefits you'd gain:
1. Increased Download Play compatibility when the flashed DS is the receiving one, not the host
2. removal of the health and safety warning screen
3. protection against potential DS brickers (highly unlikely, but still a notable feature)
See the Wikipedia article for more details.

No, it won't let you do that. You install it by running a *.nds file and then using a metal tool like a screwdriver to short the SL-1 contact, found underneath your battery cover. This lets FlashMe write to a portion of the firmware that is normally read-only, and this is where it store the emergency recovery boot code.
There are further instructions on the main site and a few video tutorials on Youtube if you're interested.
