This is currently in the DS-X ticket area but I was curious to know how many others are getting this error. I have seen it posted with the use of a "app" but I could not find it disrupting the complete use of the DS-Xtreme.

Error occurred after changing the LCD settings and instant boot, really shouldn't have effecting anything but caused the screens to go white and two seconds later go black after touching the DS-Xtreme option on the bottom screen. I formatted and updated only to now have the title show on the bottom LCD.

Cart is:
recognized by windows
Formats
Updated the firmware many times without issue
can delete and load files and folders

After formatting and reloading skins several times, I keep getting this error no matter what I try. I have formatted in both FAT and FAT32, used the latest 1.1.2 updater and 1.1.2 skins from the DS-X site, it will not properly boot the cart to write the xml file...

Anyone have any ideas for it seems to me to be a software issue, regular games work fine in the slot and it appears to have clean contacts on the cart.

For all intended purposes it should be working but like other situations there is always some little thing that went sideways.

---SOLVED-----

I would like to thank ChuckMcB for recommendations as well as Rabid1 for inadvertently giving me the solution to this issue.

Since the cart was recognized through USB and the updater program but not at a working end of a DS, I was thinking it was more a software issue.

By formatting and loading each time I tested under the recommendation of ChuckMcB and the suggestion of holding the A button during boot as Rabid1 instructed another member, I did a bit of experimenting.

What I found was so simple that I couldn't believe at first. This is how the problem got corrected...

1. Format the cart with FAT32
2. Use the Ds_Xtreme_updater_v1.2 to confirm and clean load a solid firmware
3. Disconnect the USB cable and wait at least 1 minute the reconnect
4. (Normally I would transfer the skin1.1.2 folders over but...) I removed the USB cable from the cart once I see that it is being recognized correctly and I inserted it into the DS-lite, powered the DS up and instead of tapping on the DS-Xtreme section of the bottom LCD, I held down the A button. It started to recognize and better yet... dumped the xml file.
4. I shut off the DS and connected the cart back to the PC, loaded the skin folders and dumped the apps on.

All is now working...

I havent put in a ticket yet, but decided to look around and found your thread. My issue was that I changed the skin in preferences to the OS.1.0, too see what the difference was, as someone stated their apps worked better. This was yesterday that I did this.
Well it loaded fine, but I didnt notice any difference. Actually the ds-x seemed to take longer to load for me anyway.
So I wanted to change it back to the default skin, thats where I found all of a sudden it wouldnt dump the xml file. I even formatted and reran the updater, following exact procedure and still nothing.
I followed your procedure here, and yes got it too dump the xml file. Then I hooked it back up and loaded the skins, then apps.
I am still having an issue now with freezing of apps, the loading screen sometimes just hangs there, but the dots are moving, and sometimes it just says no os.

So thank you for your help in this, and if it reverts back I will report it then on the support site.

Had to put in a ticket for my issue.
