Sorry if this has been covered (I did a search before posting this), but what are the current best emulators for the DS?
I have Lameboy 0.8, NESDS, Picodrive DS (doesn't work for me), and SNEmulDS. Any better alternatives or other good ones?

If you have a device capable of GBA compatibility, you could consider Goomba Color (a GBA program) as an alternative for GBC emulation, though Lameboy itself works well. NES DS is the best NES emulator, and SNEmulDS is the best SNES one, so you're fine with those. Again, if your device has GBA compatibility, you can try SnezziDS for SNES emulation (it's still a DS program), but note that SNEmulDS tends to be better for most games.
PicoDriveDS is the only usable Genesis emulator (the only other one runs at 1 fps, if that), so it would be best if we could get that working. What seems to be the issue? You said that you got SNEmulDS, so I'm assuming you know how to DLDI patch properly, so then the only other issue I can think of is that perhaps you're trying to load a game larger than 3 MB, which PicoDriveDS doesn't support without a device with GBA compatibility.

I'm using M3 Simply. I have a Flash2Advance for GBA lying around, but my only GBA right now has a screwed up screen (botched front light installation). The F2A does work on the DS Lite, but I'd have to dig out that dinosaur GBA to transfer stuff.
I start up Picodrive, it says, "Appending ROM check," then I get "Load file" and an arrow, but nothing appears next to the arrow. I press the A button and the arrow disappears and nothing else happens. I tried putting the ROMs in the same folder as Picodrive and also in a subfolder called ROMs within the Picodrive folder. I also tried putting the roms in the root of the memory card. Same thing happens.
The ROMs I'm using are all 1 and 2 MB (Aladdin, Sonic, Castlevania Bloodlines, Mortal Kombat).
I've never done DLDI patching because the latest M3 firmware, 1.06, seems to auto-patch it, I assume.

PicoDriveDS only checks for appended roms if the DLDI check fails. I'd try patching manually with the R4 DLDI file to make sure that it's working right. Also make sure you've got the latest 0.1.7 release, as that's the only one that has DLDI support.

Thanks, patching it worked.
