New to PSP, couple questions

I'm a nintendo DS owner, have been using things like ds-x,r4 etc that enable playing "backups". I have also noticed that there aren't any devices like this for psp. So what is needed to play "backups" what do i need to do,buy etc. What will work, what won't, I would be grateul for a newbie friendly explanation

no problem...keywords -> psp 3.03 downgrader. look in google.
