http://www.xtool.com/xtooltracker.aspx

that is for laptops. it sends a stealth signal to their server telling the ip address that the laptop is on the internet at- then works with police to recover the laptop.

wouldnt it be neat to have a plugin for an OE firmware that would report to a desktop app where the unit is online (at what ip address?)

yep just found it then. its uses the memory stick to do it and send an email telling you their IP address when the memory stick is connected via usb

i found the 2 programs, thanks.

but, they work IF & WHEN the theif hooks up a USB cable to a PC and doesnt do something to the MS.

Im sure they will use wireless before that- so again, would be great to be a plugin to an OE firmware that looked for any internet connection (wireless or when hooked to a PC via USB) and sent the email, or a straight signal to a desktop app on your own PC

heres an idea.

use prx launcher. hex edit to read from flash. flash atpsp to flash0. flash prx launcher as well to flash0, have it load at start up.

sucks cause you will have an email appear everytime you hook up the usb cable.

remedy? use something like ftpd, or a memory card reader. or simply create an account JUST for the psp to send to, that way your normal account isnt flooded. as long as the account keeps receiving email and you at least log in every couple months it should stay active.
