new guy question ! Good questions that most would ask?

hey all, another new guy! yeah..sorry!

got a couple questions though.

i was reading on a Wii Mod Chip Chart and there is mention of "V2 wii" .
How do you know which you have?

Also... should i do a firmware update before putting in a Modchip? How do you know what revision you currently have? I will go online just to do that, but most likely i will not have it online after the update and chip is in (no need really to be online right?)

also my serial is LU310XXXXXXX if that is anything i should know about (spmething about chipsets, but from what i read it dosn't matter anymore)

I was looking at the Wiikey , but now should i be looking at the Wiinja? My research told me to go with the Wiikey ??

already got my LG drive and am ready to rock and roll!

i did search and didn't come up with anything,just thought that was what the board was for. i thought they were pretty good questions that most should know.

Doesn't matter as all chips are compatible with all wiis

If you're playing a game from another region and it comes with a patch, you will need to go online to get the latest firmware for the wii or you risk bricking your system

Somewhere on here is a chipset chart, do a search on "chipset" and you should be fine

If you're planning on playing Gamecube Games with audio streaming, avoid the wiikey, otherwise, it doesn't matter which chip you get
