For all of you currently enjoying the Halo 3 beta, here's a pretty cool video of someone using the Banshee vehicle but taking it so high that it pretty much pierces the sky and gets in the space, if you want to call it that!

That was awesome. lol. BTW, I think the site is having problems posting videos, it's been awhile since anyone has done it successfully. It'd be cool if Bungie is hiding the fact that in the full game MP can seemlessly go from map to outerspace for banshee fights. I think that would make the Halo maps the largest MP maps for any game in history.

I don't know, it seems worse also me of 2, and well far, from that Halo that it made us remain to open mouth, for his special effects, you have noticed that when it goes under water the weapon remains of the same color without any sense of variation of the environment?.
Then that defects of red color, the zone where it dies, defects of the television cameras or game?.

This is not a defect as such but an element of every game. The red areas normally represent an area the player cannot see and thus isn't drawn (Part of an operation to speed up framerates and stability)
If you go into spectator modes or /noclip modes in many shooters you can get out into these areas.. mainly it is pointless red/blue/black and a 'hall of mirrors effect', you would not see this unless you do something unusual and boy is this pretty unusual.

well its not looking great... but it looks ok.. and its beta.. I remeber playing the beta smash bros at cube club.. It looked alot worse than melee actually tuned out.
My real question is.. Why the hell, all of a sudden companies are releasing betas... I rather wait until the game is finished to play it.. Its better than getting burnt out on some crappy unfinished beta. A demo is one thing.. but I am not sure i agree with public betas of AAA games before release.
PS home i can understand since it is the first time sony is doing something like that and a beta actually pays off.. But halo 3, is a third installment of MS's flagship game... Why put out a public beta like that? I think it actually kills off hype for the release.

That's awesome
One of the biggest complaints of Halo 2 was so many glitches. We already have vector based glitches. We'll see if Bungie actually cares when the final release comes out and this is/isn't fixed.

I'm really interested in how their game engine renders maps now. Before it was just a static Skybox picture with maybe some clouds that were overlayed in it to create a 3D illusion. Now they have an actual starmap and they're emulating real atmospheric light scattering to create the blue sky. The clouds are also placed at proper heights and are now argueably 3D. They also have huge mountains off in the distance that are now part of the skybox to create a feeling of depth.
I doubt it, but it would be cool if they allowed you to fly to similar heights in a larger map with additional lighting that was designed for travel like that. I'm sure they'll use this in a few cutscenes though. I hope they don't fix that glitch, as I love getting out of the maps and seeing how they work! :)

Big enough to go from a huge map to sky, and then all the way to space? lol
